Fall Fashion | Outfit #2

For my second outfit in my Fall Fashion Series I went for something that I didn’t think I would ever like, but I have totally changed my mind and I think I will be wearing this style of outfit a lot this fall season!

I have been seeing a lot of big floppy hats this season and in the summer, so when I went back to school shopping I knew I just had to get this one, and I’m so glad I did! For my hair I also went a little out of my comfort zone, I’m not usually a fan of “pigtails” but I did a fishtail, three strand braid mix which I thought turned out super cute. And of course it wouldn’t be a fall outfit without brown tall boots, knee socks and a fall dress 😉 oh and don’t forget a cute leaf necklace from Forever 21!

Okay so I might have been having way to much fun turning in this dress (and with my braids I felt like I was 5 again, but you know thats okay haha 🙂 )

Since I’m short I have a hard time finding boots that aren’t to tall that make me look even shorter, but I think these ones are the perfect height

Brown Boots: Aldo ( sadly they are from last year and are no longer available, but they have similar ones!)

Cream Knee Socks: Garage

I first got this necklace last year in silver and wore it to much, and when I went shopping this year and saw it in gold, I knew I had to get it!

Hat: Bluenotes

For my hair like I said above I did mixed braids which is another look I have been seeing all over Instagram. I started with a three strand braid, then into a fishtail and then back to a three strand braid. I also used the CGH Perfect Pigtails method to add volume to my hair but you can’t see it 🙂

Thanks For Reading! 🙂

Fall Fashion | Outfit #1

This week I will be sharing my four favourite fall outfits, along with outfit details, easy hairstyles that are great for early school morings, and even some coupon codes!

My first outfit is casual, comfy (which I’m all for, especially on schools mornings!) but still cute.

I decided to wear a pair of black leggings from Lululemon (I basically live in leggings), a burgundy slouchy Tee from Sweet Ts Design, a green army jacket from Urban Planet and lastly I paired this outfit with some short light brown boots from Forever 21

Flower Child Hair

I was contacted by Flower Child Hair (Flower Child Hair Website) and they were wondering if I could feature and try out their product. Today I received it in the mail and I had to try it out, for the first hairstyle with it I just tried a simple french braid 🙂 It is a really cute way to spice up a normal and simple braid and I could see this product going great with a summer spring outfit or also for a boho photoshoot!

Check out their website!

Conair Quick Twist

Conair Quick Twist

If you read my last post about Conair Canada (Conair Canada Blog Post) you would know that I had the amazing opportunity to sort of work with Conair Canada 🙂 They were so amazing and sent me a package full of wonderful goodies along with the Quick Twist which at the time I couldn’t show you guys but today I finally can, and I couldn’t be more excited!

Basically what the Quick Twist is, is a cute little divice that it creates a super quick rope twist braid. You attach the hair under the two little pink buttons and press the sliding button upwards. This will twist the hair, then when you slide the button downwards it twists the two twists together and create the rope twist!! It’s that easy and quick and the rope twist braid looks amazing 🙂

In the box it also comes with accessories for your hair and really helpful instructions.

5 Back to School Hairstyles {Featuring other Instagramers}

Back to school hairstyles

It’s that time of year again the weather is getting cooler, the leaves are changing colours and my least favourite part the nights are getting shorter. Back to school season is just around the corner for me and may have already started for many of you. It can be an exciting time, seeing your friends, back to school shopping and my favourite part trying out new hairstyles! Even if you aren’t ready to go back or don’t want to hopefully these hairstyles will get you a little more excited 🙂

I will be posting some of my own favourite BTS (back to school) hairstyles later but for today I will be featuring some of favourite hairstyles I found from other Instagram braiding account (@yiyayellow, @braidsbykylee, and @braidsbykatie).

I chose these hairstyles because I have personally tried all of them and I find them to be great ones for when you are in a rush, and for those of you who aren’t very experienced with braiding they are easy to do as long as you know how to three strand braid.

This first hairstyles is done by @yiyayellow 🙂

IMG_7944

To create this cute look create two small three strand braids by the part line, once you have done that gather all of your hair to the same side the small braids are on and create a simple side three strand braid.

IMG_7945

The next hairstyles also done by @yiyayellow, is called a bubble braid. This ones a fun, unique hairstyles that I am sure will get you lots of compliments.

To start this hairstyles off gather your hair into a ponytail (it can be on the side, a high or low ponytail whatever you would like), then with a small elastic about an inch from the original ponytail create another ponytail and then pull on the “bubble” to give it more of of bubbly looks 😀 repeat this step down the ponytail. You can also hair wrap each elastic to hide and you could also finish this fun hairstyles with a bow or a ribbon.

The third hairstyle is done by @braidsbykatie

This double french braid is one of my go to school hairstyles and this is also great for second or even third day hair (just add some dry shampoo)

The classic french braid is one that many people know how to do, but if you don’t there are many tutorials on youtube. To sum it up in short form part the hair into two sections, then on one side with a small section by the forehead split it into three sections and complete one braid stitch and gather hair on both sides and continue this all the way down to the nap of the neck, the smaller sections or larger ones you take will determine on what the overall look of the braid will be.

The next two hairstyles are done by @braidsbykylee

IMG_7948

This french tie back is one of my favourites on Kylee’s account and would be a super cute first day hairstyle! This one is very similar to the last one in a way. To start this hairstyles you are going to want to create a french braid (or a mermaid braid) about an 1.5-2 inches from the forehead then once you get to that point you will only want to pick up small sections from by the part line which is called a lace braid. Once you each the back of the head finish braiding to the end of your hair without adding sections and finish with an elastic.

How can you not love this picture, from the perfect curls to the super cute dog!! Like the last hairstyle this would be a great hairstyles for the first day of school or even picture day. I also think these curls would look cute if you added the french tie back from the pervious picture to it.

On my youtube channel I have a tutorial on how to create curls very similar to ones these ones 🙂

I hope you enjoyed reading my first BTS post and you figured our some new hairstyles! And thanks to my braiding friends for letting me feature them 🙂

Room Tour

Room Tour Thumbnail

Hey Everyone! ❤

A few months ago my mum and I decided that we wanted to re-do my room, so slowly but surely we started to rather pieces and come up with a plan. I ended up coming up with a pink, gold and white theme, but little did we know that it would be very hard to find that colour combination in decorations and accents.
DSC_7435

We found my bedding from Home Sense, and the accent pillows are mostly from Home Sense and Winners

DSC_7429

My desk we got from a friend who works at 1-800-Got-Junk and then re painted it with Van Gogh Chalk Paint, and the chair is from a thrift store

DSC_7438

The mirror we found at Jsyk, the hooks below that were found at Home Sense, and the floating self and lamp are from Walmart

DSC_7413

The gold dots are we found at Chapters, they are my favourite part of the whole room, I feel like they tie it all together
DSC_7404

The pink garland is from Michaels

DSC_7405

We found the clip boards and the pictures to put on them at Home Sense
DSC_7408

We made the picture by first laying lace over the canvas and spraying it with spray paint and then with a stencil we painted the gold chandelier

DSC_7421

We haven’t painted a lot before so painting took us over two days of work from 8am-11pm, but I am super happy with the overall outlook of the room and how everything turned out!

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed the pictures of my new room 🙂

Conair Canada

Hey Everyone!

A few months ago I was contacted by Conair Canada, they were interested in my Instagram account and wanted me to try a few of their products out. I was so excited as I have used and seen their products so many times. DSC_6481They were extermly generous and sent me a very lovely package full of super cool tools and goodies along with a very nice letter.

Pull-Through Braid Tutorial

Hey Everyone!

For my first blog post I have decided to do a tutorial on this super cute and easy Pull-Through Braid that is perfect for a day at the beach! Bare with me as this is my first post but I am going to try my best to explain it 🙂

  1. Create two small ponytails as close to each other as you can get them
  2. Divide the top ponytail into two equal sections, take the bottom section and if you are doing it on yourself either hold it in your mouth or pin it by your forehead, if you are doing this style on someone else get the person to hold it in front of their head. With the top section the you divided into two let it fall down and gather up a section of hair (the size of hair that you rather will determine what the outcome of the braid will be)
  3. With the new hair and the section from above secure it with an elastic and tighten it if you wish
  4. Repeat step two down the head
  5. Once you get to the nape of the neck go back and “pancake” (pull outwards) the outside edges of the braid as much or as little as you want
  6. If you wish to continue the braid down the ponytail repeat the steps above but do not add in hair
