Halloween 2016 – Pin Up Girl 🍒

Happy Halloween everyone! I can’t wait to share this years costume with you all, this year it took me forever to come up with an idea. I would find an idea that I  loved, then I either couldn’t find the different pieces for it or I didn’t like it anymore. I decided to go to our local party/Halloween store to look for ideas. I tried on serval different costumes, then I found mine in the corner of the store and immediately loved it.

I am a 1950’s pin up girl! I have always loved the 1950’s dresses and especially the hairstyles, so it was really fun putting together this costume. I will link all of the different pieces at the end of this post.

This hairstyle was super fun and challenging to do. I also recreated it for school and just did one victory roll and loved how that looks as well. You can’t go wrong with some simple black heels! I was short on time and couldn’t find any of accessories for my costume, but I did find these adorable earnings, which I thought really completed the outfit! (But I have to admit they were a little heavy)

Here is a close up of my dress, I also added a red cardigan to match my other red accessories. For my headband, I just went to the fabric store and got some red fabric and tied it in a knot. For my makeup I did classic winged liner, with a little brown shadow in the crease. I did a little contouring and added some blush. Lastly I added a pop of colour with some red lipstick, and I drew on a fake mole with eyeliner to pull it all together.

Thanks for reading! I hope you all have a fun and safe Halloween.

Minnie Mouse | Halloween 2015

This year I was really lost for a costume idea and I decided I wasn’t going to dress up, but then I thought I would just do a cool hairstyles. When I found this Minnie Mouse bun tutorial I remembered I had the perfect dress and it would be a great quick DIY costume 🙂 The hair took some practice (who knew that pig tails would be so hard lol) but after I figured it out I loved the result!

Today I will be sharing with you my costume pictures as well as how to incorporate things you already have in your closet into an easy and quick costume! I know that it is November and a whole year till next Halloween, but i thought that this would be a fun post to do 😉

My hair was inspired by the amazing Mindy from CuteGirlsHairstyles & Annie from Anniesforgetmeknots ❤

I found my shoes at Payless and then added red hair bows from Claire’s that I had from a halloween costume from a few years ago

Don’t mind my awkward pose as it was freezing out 😉

My dress I got second hand about a year ago, and then I paired it with a black cardigan I had in my closet and with some black tights! I also drew on my nose with some black eyeliner and added a white line with some face paint.

As you can see it is super easy to come up with a costume from things you already have and It doesn’t need to come from a store and cost 80$, all you need is a little imagination and creativity 🙂 My dress isn’t an exact match for Minnie’s, but thats okay because thats where your creativity comes in and you can make it your own!

The only things I bought was the shoes which were 15$ and the tights that we’re 3$, so my whole costume cost me about 18$! (it also only took me a few days to put together and I only came up with it about a week ago)

I hope you had a great Halloween filled with fun memories and lots of treats! 🙂
