2015 in Review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2015 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 9,000 times in 2015. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 3 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

Christmas Hairstyles🎅🏼🎄

Happy Christmas Eve!

This year I really wanted to make some time to try and do different Christmas hairstyles that I haven’t done before. I have always loved seeing how creative people can get with Christmas hairstyles on Instagram!

I hope you enjoy these hairstyles!

Curls done with my 19mm Nume wand!

 Candy cane braid inspired @hair4myprincess

Last year I also did Cindy Lou Who hair, but I wanted to change some things this year 😊

Fun Christmas dance hair

I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas! And no matter what your beliefs or religion you are able to send this time surrounded by close friends and family and that you feel loved! ❤️

Guest Post by: @BraidsbyJordan

A few months ago, I had the pleasure of meeting up with Gabby and a few other braiding accounts. I’m so excited to be a guest on her blog today, thank you Gabby!
The hairstyle I’m sharing with you today is a combination of two of my favourite braids: Fishtails and Faux Braids. Lately, I have been loving the look of Lace French Fishtail Braids and I thought it would be a nice combination with a Curly Faux Braid. I love Faux Braids because they look a lot more complex than they actually are, this one especially! It’s made of loose Topsy-Tail twists that alternative from one side to the other. I am wearing my Luxy Hair Extensions to add some volume and highlights to my hair, but this style can be done on most hair types!
To make this style more wintery and holiday-themed, I put some pretty silver spin pins in the braid which added some sparkle and made them look almost like snowflakes. We went up to one of my favourite photo-taking locations, a hiking trail that is especially pretty when there’s snow in the winter!
I hope you enjoy it!

Nordstrom Fashion Ambassador!

A few months ago I found out about an fashion ambassador program that Nordstrom puts on! It sounded like a cool opportunity, so I signed up/ filled out an application. At the beginning of November I got an email saying that I had an interview!! I spent the month planning and getting ready. One of the things you have to bring when you go for the interview is a fashion project, for that I decided to put together a portfolio filled with my hair/ fashion pictures I have taken for my blog and Instagram. I had never been to an interview like this one so I was pretty nervous but really excited to experience an opportunity like that.

During the interview the questions they asked me were:

  • Tell me about yourself
  • Who is your fashion icon
  • What are three trends that you know of right now
  • Why do I want to be on the team
  • What do I want to do as a career

At the end of the interview she told me I was basically in, but I would get the confirmation email in a few days. Waiting was so hard, but when I saw the email notification pop up on my phone I was through the roof!

I would also like to thank Nordstrom for this amazing opportunity, I am so excited to see what this adventure will bring! 🙂
